From Marina Beach to a Multi-Million Follower Brand
Our founder's story didn't begin in a boardroom — it began on Chennai's Marina Beach, where at just 11–12 years old, while still in the 6th and 7th grade, he sold Sundal to make ends meet. Poverty and difficult family circumstances forced him to grow up fast, and food quickly became more than a livelihood — it became his life's calling. That early necessity planted the seed for everything that followed.
"When food is prepared with honesty, tradition, and love, every meal becomes a memory."— Mr. Sivakannan
Mr. Sivakannan
Mr. Sivakannan began his culinary journey at the age of just eleven, stepping into kitchens where he learned the art of traditional South Indian cooking through years of dedication and hands-on experience.
Over the next eighteen years, he mastered authentic cooking techniques, perfected traditional spice combinations, and developed an uncompromising commitment to quality ingredients.
Driven by passion and perseverance, he transformed a humble roadside food cart into Sivakannan Restaurant in 2014—a place where every meal reflects authenticity, care, and tradition.
Today, his philosophy continues to inspire every member of the team. Every dish served carries the same passion, consistency, and respect for traditional flavours that shaped the restaurant's identity from the very beginning.
Every Great Brand Begins With One Small Dream.
From selling food as a child to building one of the most trusted food brands, every chapter shaped who we are today.
Our Story: From Marina Beach
Our founder's story didn't begin in a boardroom — it began on Chennai's Marina Beach, where at just 11–12 years old, while still in the 6th and 7th grade, he sold Sundal to make ends meet. Poverty and difficult family circumstances forced him to grow up fast, and food quickly became more than a livelihood — it became his life's calling. That early necessity planted the seed for everything that followed.
Grassroots Experience & Culinary Mastery
Rather than taking shortcuts, he chose to master the craft from the ground up. He traveled extensively across Tamil Nadu and India, working his way through every department of the restaurant business, earning hands-on expertise as a:
- Chinese Cuisine Master
- Tandoori Master
- Indian Cuisine Master
- Chaat Master
- Tea Master
This wasn't formal training — it was real-world, floor-level experience that gave him a complete, 360-degree understanding of restaurant operations, something few founders in the industry can claim.
First Entrepreneurial Venture
At 17–18 years old, determined to break the cycle of poverty, he launched his first business: a mobile food cart. Backed by relentless hard work and an unmatched sense of taste, the cart didn't just survive — it thrived, becoming a runaway local success and proving his instinct for food and business was no accident.
Brand Expansion & 5 Million+ Social Media Reach
That early success became the foundation for Sivakannan Restaurant, which has since scaled rapidly. Today, our media arms — World Food Tube (Cooking Channel) and WFT Vlogs — command a combined audience of over 5 million followers across YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram, giving the brand built-in reach, trust, and marketing power that few franchise opportunities can offer.
Natural Spices & the 'Nandri Masala' Brand
Committed to quality at every level, we developed our own line of 100% natural spices — free from artificial colors and flavors. What began as an internal quality initiative was so well received by customers that it evolved into its own standalone success: Nandri Masala, now a recognized spice brand in its own right.
